Ice Queen. Slow bolting Crisphead for summer use with attractive jagged edges and dark green colour. Can also be used as a baby leaf variety.

SITE & SOIL: a site that will not get too hot (semi-shade if necessary). Soil should not be too rich and have a pH of about 6.5.
SOW: through spring. Sow thinly in drills 1cm deep in rows 30cm apart. Seed will not germinate above 18°C.
PLANTING: thin to 15cm then to 30cm apart. Keep well watered.
HARVEST: from early summer.

Tip: Try freezing your seed for a few days before sowing to increase your germination rate.
