Be aware when buying grit what it's purpose is, there seems to be a wee bit of confusion about this.

Our grit is a mix of Oyster Shell and quartz grit and performs 2 seperate and important functions.

Oyster shell - Provides plenty of calcium & is a great health boon for your bird (especially layers). We confine our birds when we aren't outside with them this means that they can't forage for bugs which would provide much of their calcium needs. (in meat birds it helps bone development which often suffers).

Quartz Grit - Grit itself is important for the actual breakdown of a birds food. It is used in birds gizzard for a more effecient breakdown of feed and better uptake. (We find it great in our meat birds better feed uptake means better bulking in our birds).
